Singapore Inter-Faith Youth Forum Grand Finale @ SMU

Monday, January 22, 2007

I will start with the gifts I received on the historical night of 21st January. There is an urgent need to dissipate my snowballing guilt from such material pampering. Guilt because I've never given birthday presents to most of the people who gave me something that day, and also because I didn't even make at least seven sentences worth of conversation with every guest.

And now, my sincere thanks to...

my 4B classmates Weimin Tracy Weiteen Zhenzhen Mingmin Muifong Weiqi Wenhui Kaitun Timothy who decided I need a punky Esprit sweater to sex up my image in uni;

my NPCC squadmates Hanjie Decai Huiqing Wenwei Xiaowei Yexing Winnie Weishan Huishan Ziyou Zhihao Chengxiang Wenxiong Xuanmin Weibiao Xinwei and my NPCC seniors Xinlian Shaowei who also vehemently agree that I should sex up my image and thus presenting me with punky apparel from Adidas;

my NPCC squadmates Jiansheng Juncheng Panghao who understand that I will look odd in punk and thus settled for a simple, smart, "me" sweater;

my NPCC seniors Weixiang Guanyi Zhihao Weizhong who accurately predicted I will stop reading after ORD and made the effort to choose good reads to sustain my interest;

my NPCC juniors Yuelin Yuhuan Jiaming Minghui Yiting who honestly admitted that the gift inside the Adidas bag is actually from Puma;

my NPCC juniors Qiwen Quanrui Peiting for adding to my wardrobe what's necessary for a teacher who doesn't want to be condemned for his fashion sense;

my NPCC juniors Hengyu Xianglong for reminding me to drink more water to keep my pimples in check;

my JC classmates Chunkit Cliff Kuixi who saw through the narcissist in me and customised a shirt with my mug on it;

my MSH colleagues Kayin Mindan Sweechee Felicia Weihao TSS who upon request bought me a pair of board shorts;

my FDC platoon mates Junyi Mingcheng Weili Yijun for the Borders gift card;

my FDC platoon mate Jinxing for a bottle of wine;

my FDC platoon mate Derrick for a Picard wallet;

my shiftmate Edwin also for a Borders gift card;

my shiftmates Ignatius Wenlong who bought me my first set of accessories ever;

my shiftmates Justin Sum Yenghian Aaron Andrew for a Converse wallet;

my GOH mates Anntat Cheeyong Mavarick Ronghao whom I thought stuck 4 strips of double sided tape over Cao Ge's album for fun but actually to realise it's like that;

my FDC platoon mates Marvin Philip Xinhe and GOH mate Gavin for another set of teachers' accessories;

my ex-shiftmates Fabien Jason Marcus Mok and PC Jianwei and GOH mate Gerald for the belt, wallet and the small thing which I still don't exactly know what it is;

my friends Bingyi Jonathan Xueting for a bohemian bag;

my friends Baisheng Marcus Yaying for a G-Shock watch;

my relatives Yenshun Singying for accelerating my path towards enlightenment;

my 4B classmate Weiling for reminding me school is starting real soon;

my 4B classmate Seehwee for emphasizing the above point;

lastly my sister Yingjie for the shirts.

There are still a few unidentified gifts so my sincere apologies if your gift for me wasn't featured above.

Thanks for all the gifts again! I promise I won't re-gift them away. I can't anyway, after blogging about them. Looking forward to reciprocating at YOUR birthday gathering. :)

My 21st Birthday Celebration @ Aloha Changi

Other photos are available in the Flickr account on the right sidebar. It's quite sickening to see 14 photos with me in it.

Wenlong's & Derrick's 21st Birthday Celebration @ The East Coast Resort

Wednesday, January 17, 2007

This is an official invitation to my 21st birthday gathering.

Venue: Aloha Changi Netheravon Terrace Unit F @ Netheravon Road
Date: 21st January 2007 (Sunday)
Time: 6:30pm onwards

*Dinner IS provided. A slice of cake too, at around 9.00pm.

*Request for armymates and squadmates to stay overnight! Especially ORD-ing personnel who have nothing on the next day heh. Please... To make the money worth it!

All guests will be contained in the above unit.

How To Get There!

METHOD ONE:
Take bus service 2, 59 or 109 to Changi Village Terminal. Or you can take bus service 9, 19 or 89 and drop OUTSIDE Changi Village.

THEN walk towards Changi Village Hotel. Continue walking in the same direction when you are past the hotel, walk along the main road and approximately 4 minutes 26 seconds later you can see the whole row of Netheravon Terrace.

Then walk a little bit more to reach unit F on the far right. F for F***.

If you are lazy to walk, there is a bus which will bring you right to the doorstep of the chalet.

METHOD TWO:

Take bus service 29 from Changi Village Terminal and drop at bus stop B03 Netheravon Road.

METHOD THREE (most convenient but will take some time):

Take bus service 29 from Tampines Interchange and drop at bus stop B04 Netheravon Road.

I can't think of any THEME for the gathering so the THEME of the day shall be NO THEME. Any suggestions for the gathering? I don't dare to use the word "party".

Nanyang Girls

Didn't I hypothesize only recently that one got to have brains to be a female singer here?

(photo grabbed from Diya's official Project Superstar II blog)

Tada~! It's proven once again - Nanyang Girl vs Nanyang Girl for Project Superstar 2 Female Finals! So are you rooting for Carrie Yeo (left) or Chen Diya (right)? Well Carrie's voice doesn't appeal to me and Diya is overrated so I'm not taking sides. Campus Superstar finalist Teresa Tseng is so much better I feel.

And another Nanyang Girl in the news, albeit a senior-er one.

Ex-FM93.3 DJ Lin Lingzhi has hopped over to FM100.3 to host the morning show from tomorrow onwards. This came rather unexpected and I applaud her for the brave decision to leave her comfort zone to venture and learn more. Let's hope that the ensuing competition can raise the quality of programmes on both sides!

Cliff's 21st Birthday Celebration @ Han's Great Eastern

I like this pic! Random and cool with a nice backdrop.

And happy birthday to Cliff the funny man of 03S64!

Sabrina's 21st Birthday Celebration @ Aloha Loyang

Happy birthday Sabrina! Paiseh I came very late but your Hello Kitty theme was really impressive! I'm inspired. But don't get the wrong idea.

Everyone is spring cleaning when it isn't even spring. Bingyi Edwin Marvin got me started with their entries and I realised I still have Pack 02 intact.

I remember the endless nights we attempted to squeeze all of the above into a Ziploc. Some chose their thinnest undies, some cut their Admin shirt, some used a smaller towel. I was lucky to have Mingcheng to help; how exactly his muscles were employed I forgot. Now the pack is useless, I'm still reluctant to disassemble the garments; partly fearing the irreversibility of the act, and partly wanting it to stay as a memorabilia from NS.

Bonjour!

French lessons have been fun; they could have been better if I weren't always too slow to understand the linguistic jokes. Sigh. Anyway clearing leave has displaced me out of camp to in front of the comp.

Do you see what I see?

It's indeed the OSIM uZap Oscillating Massage Belt! For the first time ever, my mum actually bought such a lavish product. Maybe one of her New Year's resolutions is to get a Fionaesque figure tsk tsk. Besides, the remaining 2 people in the house need it rather desperately.

And the person who least needs it *beams* uses it the most. Nothing to do at home what just ZAP lor. ZAP ZAP thunder thighs.

ZAP ZAP big butt.

ZAP ZAP corpulent calves.

Shall tell you whether it works. And did you read that Jasmine Tye ASKED Jean Yip for an endorsement deal and got it eventually? Shameless. But smart lah. What are Maxilian Chan and Sheila Ou waiting for?

Dear Friends,

I plead you to keep your evening free on 21st January to gather for a possibly boring birthday party. If you don't come, it will be worse. So come ok???

This lucky girl gets to do her exchange at L.A., California. Have fun Valerie! And maybe grab an American boyfriend like Xiaxue. =/
When you do something twice there is likely to be a third I guess. And I hope. With a bigger entourage, the squadmates went for night cycling on New Year's Day again.

Mount Faber revisited exactly a year later.

New pit stop. V-I-V-O-C-I-T-Y if you didn't realise.

We are elated that admission to Sentosa is free after 12am.

Then to Clarke Quay, then to Yong He Eating House at Geylang for a breakfast of dou jiang you tiao.

Some of my squadmates, I only saw them twice for the whole of last year. 2007 is going to be different with all the 21st birthday parties I predict? Cheers to a new year!
