Grad Trip Day 27 - Chiang Mai

For the last 2 days I stayed in this guesthouse called the Naruncha Guesthouse. It is located at the bottom right corner of the rectangular city moat. When I was there, it was a couple in their 50s attending to me and they were so fatherly and motherly!!! Although they didn't speak much English, they received me with so much warmth - offered me food, telling me directions etc. Every time I returned to the place, they would smile and ask how have I been. Thai hospitality at its very best.

Wan brought me to have lunch at this chicken rice outlet in the old city centre. Apparently Princess Sirindhorn frequents this shop every time she comes up to the North!

We had ice-cream at this parlour called iBerry opened by a famous Thai comedian Note Udom. Most of the seats were outdoors and the patrons were mainly well-dressed young people. Ice cream is not fantastic, thought the place is!

We then visited the oldest temple within the Chiang Mai old city (surrounded by the rectangular moat). It was the last day of the year and there were many locals who were there to wish for a better year ahead.

The silver temple, still under construction.

Would have loved to sit in a Monk Chat session but didn't get to this time round. If I ever go to Chiang Mai again, I will do this and go for an elephant conservation package tour.
